A group of measures to contribute to the control of COVID-19 and curb the wide spread of the disease in the province of Holguín will come into force as of today, with the aim of reducing the incidence of the disease in the eastern territory.
The provisions, approved by the Defense Council, include reducing mobility to and from the provincial capital as much as possible, as well as strengthening control over access points to this city, one of the most risky in the current epidemiological context.
As of Monday, the authorization of the Transportation Subgroup will be issued only in cases of medical shifts, hospital admission and procedures associated with the basic basket, according to the official website of the Provincial Government.
The publication also refers that cargo cars, ambulances and funeral services will be able to access without the need for the document, taking into account that they will not transport personnel unconnected with these services.
Alcides Lazo, official of the Provincial Directorate of Public Health, said that in the last 15 days cases without a specific source of infection have increased, therefore the trend is to increase viral circulation, hence the need to reduce as much as possible the risk factors.
He noted that although the incidence rate remains below the national average, municipalities such as Sagua de Tánamo, Moa and Mayarí, report a complex situation, therefore the active health research and the epidemiological survey have been strengthened.
Lazo also called on people to avoid going out from home unnecessarily, maintain physical distancing and the correct use of the nasobuco, as the main strategy to avoid contagion with SARS-COV 2.
Holguín remains in the third phase of the recovery stage of COVID-19, while other measures are also adopted such as modifications in the hours of commercial and service facilities, the continuity of the school year in the distance learning modality in territories with limited autochthonous transmission and suspension of public passenger transport.
