The 27th Celestino Short Story Prize held in the city of Holguín from June 9 to 12, awarded the Cuban writer Humberto Fuentes for his book "Cubacabana".

The 33rd edition of the Romerías de Mayo concluded in the city of Holguín with the traditional raising of the Hacha de Holguín, a symbol of the event. The celebration was dedicated to the cultural thought of Fidel Castro, highlighting his influence on Cuban identity and cultural development.
