The event Theory and Criticism of Art "A shot in the hole", sponsored by the Provincial Center of Plastic Arts takes place in the city of Holguín until Friday with a program that includes panels, talks and videoconferences from various digital platforms and face-to-face spaces, complying with the health measures in place to prevent COVID-19.
The day included the conference "The Gorilla Glass Gallery", about art criticism and the multiple variants of socialization in the era of computerization and the benefits that new technologies offer for creation, which was broadcast in the YouTube channel Artistas Holguineros, created to disseminate plastic arts in the province.
With the theme “The current hyperconnectivity and the exercise of art criticism: Positive or negative?”, this edition was promoted by the boom of the digital age and the practices of its use extended to the visual arts and also by critical thinking about creation in Internet times.
The agenda also includes the panel "Art and Criticism 3.0", by researchers Lino Verdecia, Fernando Almaguer and the artist Ronald Guillén, as well as the online broadcast of the conference "Notes on an art critic in an informed era", by Danilo Vega.
The event will conclude with a forum for debate from Baibrama, the digital portal of culture in Holguín, which every two years gathers the specialized criteria of visual arts in the country to address the foundations of contemporary plastic creation.
