Holguín, an important “Creation Zone”

On the occasion of the 300th Anniversary of the town of Holguín, to be celebrated on April 4, the Holguín branch of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC) develops the “Zona de Creación” (Creation Zone) project that includes a set of promotional capsules on the work of renowned local artists.
The project aim at highlighting the artistic work of its protagonists, who were chosen jointly with the Provincial Committee of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac) and the Culture Directorate, Escalona explained.
"Creation Zone" was created in the context of the celebrations for the 500 years of Havana and also extends to this territory of Eastern Cuba with the aim to show the imprint of the people of Holguín and their contribution to the cultural development of the nation, she added.
Members of the FCBC branch in Holguín, recognized as one of the most active agencies in the country, also participate in the completion of construction works with notable social impact, including the Hotel Saratoga, the Provincial Museum La Periquera, the Elderly Home Jesús Menéndez and the restoration of the Café Real.
Yamilé Escalona Arias, communication specialist of the FCBC in the province, explained that it is made up of 20 audiovisual materials developed for their screening in TV programs such as the Cultural Newscast of Cuban Television, the Informative Magazine Buenos Días, the Cubavisión Internacional channel, Facebook and YouTube.
