The Iberoarte International Craft Fair dedicates its 18th edition to textile dressmaking, in order to promote an expression of the cultural identity of the peoples linked to the ways of life of each nation.

Attending the event is the Fibra-Tex project from the Cuban city of Trinidad, which is exhibiting and commercializing clothing items that distinguish the lace works, sewing points, embroidery and fabrics that distinguish the craft of that locality.

The Trinitarian artisan Joaquín Teodosio told Prensa Latina that the event favors the promotion of this work, which through various needle techniques, such as the Trinitarian point, Tenerife lace, frivolite, bobbin lace or fork crochet, intend to offer a fashionable piece with tradition.

For her part, Leonor del Toro, a Havana designer with 25 years of experience in the activity, stressed that her Leo´s Design project makes available to the exhibiting headquarters of the Plaza de la Marqueta women's clothing in a minimalist style, elegant and with handmade touches.

She said that dedicating Iberoarte-2019 to textile art helps to promote the work of designers, who offer a guide to the elegance of Cuban women with a distinguished, comfortable, fresh and modern wardrobe.

The Fair is also a space that challenges us to renew the proposals every year, as the assistance of artisans from other nations encourages us to present a line of greater creation and quality, added del Toro, deserving of awards in previous editions of Iberoarte and the International Handicraft Fair of Havana (Fiart).

Iberoarte 2019, which will run until October 27th, has the perticipation of more than 60 foreign and 45 national exhibitors.
