The Iberoamerican Craft Fair Iberoarte taking place in Holguín from October 12 to 28 has among its main events “Lote”, one of the most important collateral spaces that for the seventh time is held in parallel to the expected fair in the Eastern Cuban city.
Dedicated to the promotion of the visual arts, Lote integrates several activities with the intention of valuing the creators. It also consolidates as a timely space that diversifies and strengthens Iberoarte.
Anet Rodríguez Reyes, specialist of Plastic Arts of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets (FCBC) in Holguín, said that the Fair will host each Saturday workshops of children creation in the surroundings of the Cultural Complex Plaza de La Marqueta.
It also includes several exhibitions, such as the "30 x 30" exhibit, which brings together 15 artisans and 15 visual artists and is inspired by the three decades celebrated by the FCBC branch in Holguin.
Its opening is scheduled for Saturday 13 at 3:00 pm (local time) at the headquarters of the Uneac. That same day, Surnay Benítez, adviser of the Provincial Council of Plastic Arts in the territory, will give a lecture on the life and creative work of her father Adigio Benítez, a prominent artist from Santiago de Cuba.
The agenda also includes a debate with creators who have kept trading with the Fund during all this time, which will have the participation of renowned painter Cosme Proenza.
The Ibero-American Center will host an Exhibition of Miniatures, from Sunday 21 at 4:00 pm.
