The Holguín Provincial Center for Visual Arts and the Municipal Directorate of Culture invite all artists in the province to participate in the 39th City Salon, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of CODEMA (the Holguín Association of Visual Arts).

According to the institution's Facebook profile, the salon will be inaugurated during the 43rd Holguín Culture Week, scheduled to take place from January 12 to 18, 2026.

Each artist may submit up to three works, each no larger than two square meters. The jury will consider whether to exhibit one or all of the pieces, which must have been created between 2025 and 2026.

Artworks already submitted to the CODEMA exhibition will automatically be included in the City Salon, as long as the artist chooses to participate and meets the general guidelines of the call for entries.

The Jury will award a prize consisting of 6,000 pesos (MN), a Baibrama statuette, and a diploma, as well as many mentions as it deems appropriate. A collateral prize of 5,000 MN and materials for making handmade paper will be awarded by the Florida Paper Artists Association (USA). This prize will be given to works that have used handmade paper as a predominant expressive element or in which it forms part of the work itself.

Entries must be submitted to the Provincial Center for Visual Arts, located at Calle Maceo No. 180, corner of Martí, Holguín. The deadline for submissions is January 9, 2025.

The City Salon is a necessary space for socialization to promote creative processes that find their purpose in our region and is held annually as part of the Holguín Culture Week program.
