The company Palabras al viento, the Mayra Navarro Honorary Chair, and the Provincial Center for the Performing Arts in Holguín are calling for the second edition of the "World of Words" Oral Storytelling Festival, which will take place from April 9 to 14, 2026 in this eastern city.
The event will be dedicated to the traditions of indigenous peoples, with a emphasis on Mexico, and will be open to oral storytellers, performing artists, and practitioners of various cultural expressions.
The program will include performances at the Buena Palabra Cultural Center, Casa del Cuento, theaters, cultural institutions, schools, public squares, and communities.
Those interested in registering must submit an application with personal information, a synopsis of the show, photos, videos, duration, and target audience.
For Cuban participants, coordination will be through the provincial Performing Arts Councils or representative institutions. Foreign participants should contact the event coordinator, Yordanis Sera, via email or WhatsApp before January 10, 2026.
The selection committee will announce the list of participants on January 20, 2026. This initiative seeks to strengthen oral art and promote cultural heritage in all its forms.
