The 31st edition of the Visual Arts Salon opened with the awarding of the Grand Prize to artist Yosvani Rodríguez Batista for his work "Fragments of Reality," noted for its deep dramatic impact and subtle use of printmaking in an installation format.

Rodríguez expressed his surprise and honor at being recognized alongside colleagues and students.

Other artists received mentions for their contributions, including Yojany González Martínez, a student at "El Alba," who was praised for his work "Girls Honey Pastel Pink Color" that successfully conveyed ideas and feelings expressively.

Luis Silva Silva also received a mention for his series "Snacks," which integrated natural elements within a contemporary language.

The jury was composed of Marilyn Sampera Rosado, curator of the Center for the Development of Visual Arts; Juan Luis Maceo Núñez, a visual artist from Granma with a background in sculpture; and Karell Maldonado O'Ryan, a visual artist and professor at the El Alba Regional Academy of Plastic Arts.

Collateral awards were also given to artists recognized by the Caguayo Foundation for Monumental and Applied Arts, the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets, and the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).
This edition was speccially dedicated to social media as a platform for expression, highlighting the idea that both artworks and social media posts are simulations.
