New dance season of Codanza in Holguín

With the appearance of young dancers belonging to different artistic teaching centers, the contemporary dance company Codanza will premiere from January 31 to February 9 a new season with the artistic and general direction of its current representative, Vianki González Miranda.
The shows will feature the premiere of the work Kardia, where, from the internal search for movement, new beginnings will be received. The work Se permuta la casita, as a version of the original piece, will explore the family interiority and the doubts of the individual, and the public will also be able to appreciate the choreographies Filtros, Antropos and Génesis.
The dance company was affected by emigration, so students from the Raúl Gómez García Elementary Art School and the Alfredo Velázquez Carcassés Professional Dance School, from the province of Guantánamo, will integrate the presentations without losing the essence of what Codanza has meant for more than 30 years.
The Codanza company is among the most important contemporary dance groups in Cuba. A new image awaits it under the leadership of the recently declared director, together with the talent of the new generations, who, without yet being professionals, take on the challenge of continuing the legacy created in 1992 by the former director of the company, Maricel Godoy.
