With the presentation of the José Manuel Guarch Delmonte National Research Award to Cosme Casal Corella, the XIX Ibero-American Congress of Thought was held on Tuesday in the city of Holguín, as part of the celebrations for the XXX edition of the Ibero-American Culture Festival.

The jury, made up of prestigious intellectuals, decided that the work "José Manuel Guarch Delmonte. The reason for his life: archeology" was worthy of the award for addressing the altruistic and scientific work of the archaeologist from an original approach that delves into the milestones of his career as a human being and scholar.

Cosme Casal Corella thanked for the award and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the knowledge of Holguín and Cuban culture through the creation of reference materia, now available to those dedicated to the study of the work of the eminent scientist.

Likewise, the cancellation of an issue of postage stamps in commemoration of "100 years uniting cultures", from the América series, Postal Union of the Americas Spain and Portugal, issued in 2011 with a circulation of more than 115 thousand copies took place during the event.

The meeting also served to recognize various founders who have made the Ibero-American Culture Festival a project that annually promotes the heritages and traditions of the Latin American peoples through theoretical, artistic, community and sociocultural events.
