The color and idiosyncrasy of the province of Santiago de Cuba featured the inauguration of the 22nd edition of the Iberoarte International Crafts Fair, which will take place until October 26 in the city of Holguín.
The expo-sale, which includes textile confections, saddlery, goldsmithing and other varied expressions of this type of artistic manifestation of the more than 40 participating creators and artists, will highlight the culture of the so-called “hot land” through vibrant shades of color and representations of that territory.
Manuel Hernández Ramos, director of the Holguín branch of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC), in his opening remarks said that the meeting is dedicated to this eastern province due to its important link with Caribbean folklore and thanked the more than 33 foreign exhibitors from countries such as Peru, India, Ecuador and Argentina, for supporting the exchange between nations.
The Expo Holguín fairgrounds, the venue for the event, will open its doors daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature the sale of creations in high demand by the attending public, ranging from products used in skin care to toys for the little ones at home.
The closing gala, to be held at the Bariay Club, will include the awards ceremony in the categories of Best Stand, Best Work, Textile Manifestations and the Iberoarte 2024 Grand Prize.
Sponsored by the FCBC in Holguín, the 22nd edition of the Iberoarte International Crafts Fair, the second most important of its kind in the country, will have a varied program of activities that includes business rounds, interactive workshops and exhibitions.
