The cultural project Plaza de la Marqueta, in the historic center of the city of Holguín, welcomed the presentation of the the Yoruba Association of Cuba with three new projects: the book "Los Ritmos de los Tambores Batá Añá"; the “Despertar de Añá” and the audiovisual series of dramatized genre “Nació el Rey”.

Roberto Padrón Silva, president of the Yoruba Association of Cuba, accompanied by PCC officials in the province, was present at the presentation of these projects that included music and dances representative of Afro-Cuban culture.

The first of the projects presented was the book "The rhythms of the Drums of Batá Aña" which aims, through a didactic function, to capture the rhythmic touches of the Batá Drums.

In the case of the Añá Awakening, the association intends to mark a specific date for the celebration of this figure.

Añá, is the Orisha that lives in the sworn Batá drums, it is essential in this religion because through it Olodumare, God or supreme being, is communicated that a practitioner consecrates himself as babalosha or iyalosha.

The audiovisual series of dramatized genre " Nació el Rey " seeks to highlight the legendary figure of Shangó in passages that go to the past and the future, narrating stories that show the characteristics of the Orisha in the current context of the country.

This presentation of the Yoruba Association of Cuba aims at promoting the common bond and the union between all the religious brotherhoods of the Cuban society.

It also seeks to strengthen the knowledge acquired through research and the experience of years of study and improvement of the religious community as an indestructible bastion to rescue ethical and family values.
