As a tribute to the cultural and friendship ties between Cuba and Mexico, two nations twinned in history, the province of Holguín’s Banda de Conciertos (BPC) gave a major open-air concert called “Colors of Mexico”, dedicated to that country.

Conducted by the Mexican maestro Luis Koyoc, head of the Yucatan State Band, the concert included popular and academic music and mainly featured pasodoble and bolero tunes from different regions of that country.

Mr. Koyoc said that he was pleased and honored to work with musicians as professionals as the BPC members and for the opportunity to enjoy such combination of the rhythms and sounds of culturally rich countries such as Cuba and Mexico.

“Colors of Mexico” was organized as part of the provincial celebrations of BPC’s 100th anniversary. (Source: ACN)
