The celebration, which will run until the 20 this month, includes poetry readings and book presentations by this publishing house that today has a catalog of excellence with more than 800 titles and whose management consolidated the City of Parks as one of the most significant literary squares in the country.
Kenya Leyva, editor and writer of Ediciones Holguín, said at a press conference that the opening activity took place on Wednesday at the headquarters of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba in the historic center of the city with a poetry recital by founding writers, including Lourdes González, Eugenio Marron, Manuel García Verdecia, Delfín Prats and Gilberto González.
She commented that the space “Con olor a tinta”, which reaches its tenth anniversary and is usually held at the La Periquera Provincial Museum, dedicated its day onThursday to talking with the multi-award-winning poet Moisés Mayán.
The program of activities also includes the panel " Tenaces como el fuego ", which will take place at the Lalita Curbelo Cultural Center this Friday with the participation of specialists with more than 15 years of experience, who will address issues related to the origins of Ediciones Holguín in these 36 years, a publisher that has achieved a diverse catalog in titles and nominations and that its editor described as "the greatest jewel in the crown".
Among the publishing novelties of Ediciones Holguín are the new anthologies by writers Lourdes González on police stories, Mariela Varona with Vampire Stories and José Luis Serrano with a selection of Latin American love poems written by women.
