Tradition and modernity remain today as premises in the 29th edition of the Romerías de Mayo, a cultural event that will run until May 8 in the city of Holguín, in eastern Cuba.
Considered the largest activity organized by the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) on the Caribbean island, the Romerías annually convene new creators from various artistic branches and countries, to promote and celebrate young art in the first week of the fifth month of the year.
The traditional inaugural parade will take place on May 3 from the Mayor General Calixto García stadium to La Periquera provincial museum, from where the opening words of the event will be broadcast.
Similarly, the program includes the start of cultural spaces, including the Cámara Azul, dedicated to audiovisual production, Destrabando la Trova and Electro Romerías, as well as the Congress of Thought and the Memoria Nuestra-2022 Award for Young Researchers.
The agenda also includes photo exhibitions, presentations of musical groups, performances by dance companies and the screening of short films and documentaries.
