Environmental Film Festival Jibarama 2022 convened

The Provincial Film Center, the Provincial Directorate of Culture in Holguín, the Municipal Directorate of Culture in Gibara, as well as the Direction of the Provincial and Gibara governments, call to participate in the 12th Environmental Film Festival, Jibarama 2022, to be held from April 13 to 17 in this coastal town.
This year’s edition aims to raise awareness about the importance of caring for and preserving the environment through social participation with the screening of short films related to the theme.
The categories to compete are fiction short film, documentary short film, animation and cine60, the latter with works of up to 1 minute in length. The Selection Committee, made up of the Board of Directors, will select 10 materials in each category. Only products made after 2016 will be accepted.
All works must be sent in two copies, DVD format, to the following addresses: Provincial Film Center, Mártires No. 77 between Frexes and Aguilera, CP: 80100; and to the Jibá Cinema, Luz Caballero No.17 between Independencia and Sartorio, Gibara, Holguín, Cuba, CP: 82100.

Jibarama 2022 will be dedicated to the 205th anniversary of Gibara, the 55th anniversary of the founding of the "Joaquín Fernández de la Vara Pi" Museum of Natural History, to the 15th anniversary of the Gibaravisión local TV channel and to the fifth anniversary of being declared the city as a tourist destination.
