National Youth Humor Festival Satiricón begins in Holguín

The 8th edition of the Satiricón Festival of Humor for Young People began on Tuesday night at the Eddy Suñol Theater Cultural Complex in the city of Holguín with a varied show performed by local and national humorists.
The event that will run until the next 27th is sponsored by the Provincial Council for the Performing Arts and the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) and will feature renowned national groups such as El Portazo, 40 Megas, Punto y coma, Komutú and Caricare.
The Eddy Suñol Theater Cultural Complex, the branch of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac) and the University of Holguín will be the main venues of the festival.
In addition to puns, jokes and ironies, this year’s edition of Satiricón will address the daily life of contemporary society.
The program of activities includes the exhibition of cartoons in three dimensions, by the humorist Onelio Escalona, a member of Caricare, who recreates personalities from the world of culture and humor, outstanding in the confrontation with COVID-19.
Satiricón, the second most important festival of the genre held in Cuba, presents a variety of shows for the Cuban family, defending new ways of interacting with the public in search of quality stage humor.
