Gibara Culture Week begins

The 45 edition of the Gibara Culture Week started on January 10 with a bugle call, such as the mambí clamor in the manigua, and a parade through the streets of the also known as Villa de los Cangrejos, on the 205th anniversary of this coastal town.
The Jibá Cinema, official headquarters of the Gibara International Film Festival, hosted the Opening Gala “Por ti Gibara ", with the performance of local artists.
The program of activities includes 99 cultural activities that will run until January 16, with the performance of amateurs, patio artists and professional talent.
The celebration is dedicated to the 205th anniversary of Gibara, the 55th anniversary of the Joaquín Fernández de la Vara Pi Museum of Natural History, the 50th anniversary of the Museum of Decorative Arts, the 15th anniversary of the Municipal Band of Concerts and Rodolfo Cajigal Rodríguez.
Aimed at different audiences, cultural institutions will host exhibitions in all artistic manifestations with the presence of guest personalities from the Office for the Conservation of Heritage Cities of Cuba and Culture in the province of Holguín, who through workshops, conferences, audiovisual screening and exhibitions, will turn the land of fishermen into a sea of arts.
