Organized by the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC) in Holguín, the “Arte para mamá” Crafts Fair opened today in this eastern city, complying with the sanitary measures to tackle the spread of COVID-19.
In an effort to market Cuban products on the occasion of Mother's Day, which is celebrated on the second Sunday in May, the expo-sale will be held at the Colibrí and Idearte stores, between the nine in the morning and two in the afternoon, explained to the ACN Yamilé Escalona Arias, specialist in Communication and Marketing at the agency.
These spaces were redesigned with products especially for mothers and a wide sample of local and national creators, including the TintaHabana project and the works of the artist Miguel Francisco Cadalso, both from the Cuban capital.
Among other handicrafts, she commented, the public will be able to find footwear, wooden and fiber pots, textiles, ornamental plants and goldsmiths; as well as utilitarian and decorative objects for home, such as mirrors, furniture, ceramics and plastic arts.
The Bayado Gallery also joins the event with the commercialization of its artistic products, including folders of plates and the book Matria of the homonymous photographic exhibition, by photographer Gabriel Dávalos, recently inaugurated in El Zaguán art gallery.
These products will also be marketed online, through the EnZona e-commerce platform, using the QR code, which the entity uses for this type of sales, the specialist added.
The FCBC of Holguín is one of the most significant entities in the artistic and commercial development of the province, which enables it to prevail successfully within the creative and socioeconomic movement in the country, organizing every year craft fairs such as Iberoarte .
