Cuba attracts French people as a tourist destination

The 2023 edition of the Mahana Lyon Tourism Fair had Cuba as the guest of honor, a destination that has attracted the attention of French public, expert Diana Rosa Gonzalez noted.
The tourism counselor at the Cuban Embassy in France told Prensa Latina that the event, held from Friday to Sunday, left good sensations in the objectives of gradual recovery of a market that, like others, was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
We saw a lot of interest in traveling to Cuba, due to both visit to our stand and the evaluations shared by professionals who promoted the destination at the Halle Tony Garnier in Lyon, she added.
According to Gonzalez, being a guest of honor at the Mahana Show also contributed to bringing the public closer, thanks to the actions and facilities created by organizers. We made two daily presentations on the attractions of a destination that is recognized worldwide for being much more than sun and beaches, thanks to the authenticity provided by Cuba’s culture and history and a warm human welcome, she added.
Regarding the French public’s interest, she mentioned the circuits in groups accompanied by guides, although among young people there is also a desire to travel by car, outside tourist packages and with more freedom, to lesser-known places.
In addition to the much-demanded routes that cover the heritage sites of Havana, the Viñales Valley and Trinidad, in western and central Cuba, there are also trips to the eastern part of the country.
