Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of Cuba’s Communist Party insisted in the need to increase food production at all municipalities, during a meeting in the western province of Artemisa.
At the meeting with governors and the mayor of the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud, the meeting focused on complying with the municipalities’ food budget, reviewing the contracting of agricultural products in line with current production methods, and thoroughly evaluating the plans.

So far 381 people have been sanctioned in Cuba for crimes of sedition, sabotage, robbery with force, violence, attack, contempt of court and public disorder in the riots that took place last July, Granma newspaper reported today.

The sessions of the First Itinerant Congress of Ophthalmology will conclude in Holguín, on May 17, after its development throughout the country since March, under the auspices of the Cuban Society of this medical specialty and the Ramón Pando Ferrer Cuban Institute of Ophthalmology.
