The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) supports the education sector in the province of Holguín through joint projects that benefit children without parental care from donation of materials aimed at improving their quality of life.
The resources include essential items used for cooking and household appliances, such as refrigerators, pots, stoves, freezers, washing machines, and rechargeable lamps, thus optimizing the living conditions in these centers, as well as educational materials and informational brochures.
The project also includes the training of teachers, professionals and other workers involved in the protection of minors, with the aim to strengthen pedagogical and psychosocial support strategies.
In this regard, a multidisciplinary team was created with the participation of entities and agencies, including the Attorney General's Office, the Ministries of Justice, and Labor and Social Security (MTSS), among others.
In the province of Holguín, UNICEF is implementing four key initiatives in the sector dedicated to promoting sexuality education, early childhood care, and a new vocational training model for adolescents, coordinated by the Technical and Vocational Education Department. (Source: ACN)
