The Engineering Construction Company (Ingeco) No. 17 in Holguín is strengthening its ties with science, innovation, and research through projects aimed at using clean energy and reducing environmental pollution.
Currently, in collaboration with the University of Holguín, the company is implementing a program to transform its energy matrix in the production of asphalt mixes.
The project involves integrating heaters and solar panels into the machinery used in the manufacturing processes of hot and cold asphalt concrete, helping to reduce environmental impact.
At the Rafael Freyre plant, where quality is ensured through a certified laboratory and equipment, solar energy will be introduced at various stages of the industrial process, from the reception of aggregates to heating and mixing, aiming for a less polluting process.
The feasibility of these advances is supported by a postgraduate professional development plan that enhances problem-solving through new technologies.
The company is working on certifying an integrated quality and environmental management system to minimize pollution effects.
