Twenty Holguín athletes to San Salvador-2023

Leuris Pupo Requejo, Olympic champion and Silver medallist in rapid-fire pistol, leads the two dozen athletes from Holguín who are part of the Cuban delegation for the next Central American and Caribbean Games (JCC) San Salvador-2023.


Pupo is the Holguín athlete who has won the most medals in the Centrocaribe with 10 golds, four silvers and one bronze in 25-meter rapid fire pistol and in the standard pistol, individually and by team.

The taekwondo player Tamara Robles (57), badminton player Taimara Oropesa (gold and bronze in 2014) and the softball player Luis Raúl Domínguez, will try to repeat their golds in Barranquilla.

On the other hand, the baseball player Yordan Manduley (bronze in 2018 and gold in 2014), the weightlifter Juan Columbié (109 kilos, silver-2018), the cyclist Alejandro Parra and the sailboat Dennier Infante, also make up the delegation.

Rosaide Robles (pole vault), Betzi Yelena Claro (basketball), Daimelín Pérez and Douglas Nelson Parrado (cycling), Yordan Danilo Ferrer (fencing), Dianelis Santos (artistic swimming), Adriana Sanamé, (modern pentathlon ), Ana Laura Jiménez (double par, lightweight and four par, rowing), Andrey Barnet (double pair, rowing), Anibal Vaillant (outfielder, softball), Rafael Guerra (pitcher, softball) and Eliannis María Cruz (taekwondo) will debut in the Central American and Caribbean Games.

Holguín will represent 14 disciplines and seven municipalities in San Salvador-2023.
