Pope Leo XIV reaffirmed his call to assume with responsibility the commitment to achieving world peace.

In the introduction to the English version of his book “Peace Be With You,” the Pope expressed the need for peace “in a world wounded by too many conflicts and ravaged by bloody hostilities,” where “extreme nationalism tramples on the rights of the weakest,” a release published in Vatican News states.

This 128-page volume, first published in August 2025 by the Vatican Publishing House, compiles the thoughts, meditations, and homilies of the Bishop of Rome, highlighting peace, nonviolence, and fraternity as an antidote to extremism and injustice.

“Our hearts are the most important battlefield,” and “it is there that we must learn the bloodless but necessary victory over the impulses of death and the tendencies toward domination,” because “only peaceful hearts can build a world of peace,” His Holiness states in the introductory remarks to this new edition of his book.

The Holy Father emphasized, “The heart is the source of peace. Here we must learn to meet instead of confronting each other, to trust instead of distrusting, to listen and understand instead of isolating ourselves from others.”

Pope Leo XVI finally asked God to “grant our world, all people, especially the most forgotten and those who suffer the most, the blessed grace of a fair and lasting peace.” (Source: Prensa Latina)
