Russia investigates incident involving Covid-19 patients

Russian Deputy Health Minister Yevgeny Kamkin traveled on Wednesday to Omsk province to analyze an incident involving Covid-19 patients, after a record number of 346 deaths was reported in a single day.
Kamkin will clarify an incident in which two ambulances had to wait for 10 hours for two Covid-19 patients, one was aged 70 and the other one was 85 years old, to be received at a hospital, so those vehicles were parked in front of the Ministry of Health in Omsk.
Omsk accumulated 11,000 Covid-19 cases, including 191 in a single day, the highest number in that region, where 410 people have died of the respiratory disease since March.
In that regard, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, who announced his quarantine last week, after a member of his family tested positive for the new coronavirus, pointed out that at difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic, the entire health sector must work as a team.
Over the last 24 hours, Russia has reported 16,202 new Covid-19 cases, totaling 1,563,976, while 12,365 patients have been discharged from hospitals, totaling 1,171,301 recovered patients and accounting for a recovery rate of 74.9%.
The death toll reached 26,935, representing a lethality rate of 1.72%.
