Young people may not get Covid-19 vaccine until 2022, WHO says

The World Health Organization´s Chief Sscientist Soumya Swaminathan on Thursday affirmed that young, healthy people should be prepared to wait more than a year to be vaccinated against the new coronavirus.
'Many people are under the misconception that they´ll be able to get a vaccine in early 2021, and the things will back to normal, but it will not be like that. Nobody has ever produced vaccines in the necessary volumes, so in reality, any vaccine that is ready next year will be available in limited quantities', she stated.
She also stressed that health-care workers and others on the front lines will be the first vaccinated, followed by the elderly and so on.
She also said that about a dozen possible anti-Covid-19 drugs are currently in phase III clinical trials in groups of approximately 30,000 people in places where the coronavirus keeps on affecting intensely.
However, she cleared out that they will wait until they have all phase III results to know 'which and how many of these vaccines will be safe and effective for a long period.'
Soumya Swaminathan predicted those conclusions could be ready early next year, but must comply with regulations for the approval of one or more drugs.
