The 61st National Oral Polio Vaccination Campaign began Monday in Holguín, where some 28,796 children from one month old to two years, 11 months and 29 days will be immunized in the two phases planned.

The health system in Holguín province is promoting an investment program that contributes to improving the quality of services to the population and the working conditions of health professionals as one of the priorities of the sector in Cuba.

Some 30 individuals between 19 and 59 years of age have traveled from Italy to Cuba to take part as volunteers in the Soberana Plus Turin clinical trial, being conducted by institutions in the two countries.
