Increasing agricultural production to guarantee food for the people is one of the main objectives of the province, with this purpose Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Holguín, visited the Magueyal Productive Pole in the municipality of Cacocum to check its status and learn the strategy for its recovery.
World Tourism Day 2023 is celebrated in Holguín as part of the activities for the Havanatur SA Group's MegaFam event and a significant post-COVID-19 pandemic recovery of more than 83 percent compared to 2019, to position itself as the second destination in results, only preceded by the province of Villa Clara.
With the aim to promote the eastern Cuban region, specifically the Holguín destination, this territory of eastern Cuba hosts the Havanatur SA's MegaFam 2023, which from September 22 to 30 brings together some 400 travel agents from nearly 20 countries.
A new park of solar panels donated by the government of the People's Republic of China will be installed in the Holguín municipality of Mayarí, as part of the change in the energy matrix in Cuba, which depends 95 percent on fossil fuels.
