China urged the US to end the Blockade of Cuba

The representative of China said that since 1992 the UN General Assembly has approved the resolution against the Blockade with a large majority. "It is a fair call from the international community."
He stressed that the unilateral measures of the United States against Cuba are counterproductive and affect the rights to survival and development of the country.
The diplomat emphasized that this policy limits the access of the Cuban people to medicines and supplies necessary in the fight against the pandemic.
"China urges the United States to put a complete and immediate end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed against Cuba," he said, while highlighting his country's conviction that the resolution will be approved by an overwhelming majority.
Russia will vote in favor of lifting the Blockade
The representative of Russia said that in this pandemic situation in which we are living, the countries should leave behind Blockade measures.
He referred to the inclusion of Cuba in the list of State sponsors of terrorism, which he described as "inhuman", and highlighted the island's support in the fight against COVID-19 and its creation of vaccines against this disease to also help other countries.
The diplomat congratulated the Cuban scientists for the effectiveness achieved in one of their vaccine candidates (Abdala), despite the measures imposed by the United States, and announced that they will vote in favor of Cuba. "I ask the countries to show solidarity with Cuba."
