Water resource specialists in Holguín are working to restore water supply systems damaged by flooding and winds following Hurricane Melissa, which struck eastern Cuba early Wednesday morning.

The province of Holguín, with the largest school network in Cuba, has quantified more than 193 educational institutions structurally damaged as of Thursday following Hurricane Melissa, a figure that could increase after assessments carried out in the province during these days.

Authorities from the Ministry of Energy and Mines report that recovery efforts continue in several cities and communities in eastern Cuba, severely affected by the recent passage of Hurricane Melissa.

Starting October 29th, Pegas and Nordwind Airlines will open new route between Moscow and the Cuban eastern province of Holguín .
