Holguín: Public Health calls not to neglect measures against COVID-19

"This stage is the most dangerous because people are neglected and a second wave of the disease could emerge, as it has happened in other regions of the world," said Yanelis Calviño Vega, head of the Public Health Management in Holguín.
So far, the COVID-19 disease has had a favorable behavior, but preventive hygiene measures cannot be neglected, said the specialist in Press Conference offered on Wednesday at the Provincial Government headquarters.

As part of the population study carried out in the country, samples of more than 300 people were analyzed in the province, belonging to 23 clinics from Cueto, Sagua de Tánamo, Gibara, Moa and Holguín municipalities.
Calviño Vega insisted on maintaining vigilance to avoid high focality and the proliferation of other transmission diseases such as dengue during this rainy season and early summer.
In this regard, she explained that the province of Holguín has an infection rate of 0.76 and the head municipality has an indicator of 1.43, higher than the provincial average, making it extremely vital to fight the proliferation of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, transmitter of this disease.
The doctor recalled that patients with symptoms of dengue or other arboviruses should go to the Mario Gutiérrez Polyclinic, located in La Plaquita, where they make classification consultations and transfer them to the ITH, where a hospital operates to attend to these cases.
