Holguín University contributes to Educational Improvement

The basic theoretical platforms related to the quality of education and labor training are among the contributions from the University of Holguín to the Third Improvement of the General Teaching System in Cuba.
 
Offering a protocol to measure the evaluation and impact of research, prepare teachers didactically for the transformations of educational practice and conceptualize labor training beyond the study-work linking are some of the tasks undertaken by the Centers of Studies in Education Sciences and Labor Training (Cenfolab) of the center of higher studies.
 
“We seek a different educational quality in a different context, in which we address values, qualities, aptitudes and attitudes towards life, society and short-term changes. An era that requires conceptual changes in the quality of learning, because despite having dissimilar doctoral theses, master degrees, diplomas and specialties in pedagogy, difficulties persist in this regard,”said Dr.Sc. Laura Mendoza Tauler, Director of the Study Center for Education Sciences.
 
Several scientific results have been provided by this center, whose main mission is to address the development of educational research in Education Sciences, to contribute to the improvement of the training process of university professionals.
 
“Some time ago, the implementation of these results was carried out on the trial-error basis. Now, we provide a methodology that allows developing, in a uniform way, the evaluation-impact of the research”, she added.
 
Seeking the continuous improvement of the general teaching and higher education processes is also a task for Cenfolab, which provides a new theoretical-methodological conception of labor training in different education levels in this third educational improvement.
 
In this sense, Doctor of Science Orlando Martínez Cuba, said that they have been involved in the review of textbooks, workbooks and programs implemented in an experimental way in the educational improvement.
 
“Determining the labor qualities of the personality for each of the educational levels with the characteristics that distinguish them, as well as the strategy for their development through education and pedagogical professional guidance, is another contribution to this process,” he said.
 
Labor training for life not only in agriculture, but in the way of acting, behaving, living together, feelings, values and qualities that make children, young people and teachers to be better people and professionals in everyday’s life and work, is the main motivation of the proposals of the study center, also involved in the search for actions that allow the linking between university-school-company-family-community.
 
The improvement of the Cuban education system leads today to promoting the continuous training of professionals, based mainly on the objectives of the 2030 Agenda, closely related to the contributions of these Study Centers of the UHo, aimed at contributing to the comprehensive training of the students.
