Ramiro Valdés assesses Integral Development Program in Moa

During his visit to Moa the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez analyzed in detail the Integral Development Program (PDIM) that seeks to transform the economic, social and environmental life of this territory of eastern Holguin, with large contributions in goods to the domestic product gross of the province.
Valdés Menéndez was interested in food production and the promotion of forest species, which allow the development of the timber industry in the area, the latter aspect should be included into the PDIM and in the annual plans of the economy.
Regarding the production of food, the possibility of financing, with the territorial contribution, the construction of three warehouses for the fattening of chickens, which will provide 164 tons of meat per year and a slaughterhouse that will allow slaughter of laying hens when they finish the cycle and provide others 160 tons in the same period of time.
Gisela Mendoza Sierra, president of the government in Moa, reported on the main works carried out during the period in sectors such as health, education, communales, transportation, housing and the food industry, among others.
The Deputy Prime Minister urged compliance with the plan of 28 measures guided by the highest government body that seek to improve the work of state-owned companies.
Currently it is important to take advantage of the infrastructure of the port of Moa as another way to develop the municipality, while assessing and the possibilities of using the waterfalls of La Melba and Cayo Guam as tourist attractions, as well as recovering the camping bases.
Valdés Menéndez insisted on the need to exploit the available land, even though the soils are of type four (very bad for agriculture) and recover the movements of courtyards and plots since this territory cannot depend solely on shipments, but producing part of what it is consumed, as food production is a matter of national security.
