"The environmental policy based on the economic and social development of the territory of Holguin and its contribution to the confrontation of climate change", is the theme that will govern the next edition of Expoambiente, scheduled to take place on April 25 and 26 in the city of Holguin.
The keynote lecture "The Montreal Protocol and the Kigali Amendment. Protecting the ozone layer and the climate ", by Dr.Sc Nelson Espinosa Pena, director of the Ozone Technical Unit in Cuba, will open the event on Thursday the 25th at the headquarters of the Hermanos Saiz Association.
Around 20 papers by researchers from the province will be presented in the three symposiums aimed at analyzing core issues on natural resource management, business and urban environmental and education for sustainable development.
Norelis Peña, vice president of the organizing committee, highlighted the workshop to be taught by specialists from the Environment Unit on the integral management of chemical products and hazardous waste and the Life Task plan in Holguin, among other topics.
At the same time, the Plaza de la Marqueta will gather about 40 institutions, organizations and companies which will develop several activities such as book presentations, games for children and young people and films screening.
Peña noted that all these activities will be open to the population, who can go and learn about the problems existing in the province and the solutions offered to certain difficulties: "It will also be an excellent opportunity to increase awareness of what each of us can do from the community, school, work centers to mitigate the negative effects on the environment.
At the end of each symposium, the Organizing Committee will select the relevant and outstanding paper. It will also grant the Creativity Award to the best initiative or stand.
