Protected by Law 72 (Electoral Law), this February 24, Holguin residents voluntarily attend the polls, to approve by direct and secret vote, the Magna Carta that will rule in Cuba.
The dynamic test of last February 17 allowed to make the necessary adjustments, so that this Sunday all the polling stations of the eastern province are ready, in one of the most democratic exercises of our times.
The Provincial Electoral Commission (CEP) foresaw that Cuban clients in the hotels of the tourist Pole can vote and move to certain polling stations, with the assistance of the management of these accommodation facilities, reported Caridad Ramos Sánchez, president of the CEP.
"If a voter does not have his Identity Card, for any reason beyond his control, he can attend the paperwork offices, where he will be given a certificate, valid only for that day, with which he may attend the electoral school.”
"Young people at 16 years of age who still do not carry the ID card also have the possibility of going with the ID card for youngers," said Ramos Sánchez.
The attendance to the ballot boxes is essential, because it is voted for the future of the country and for the norms that will govern its socio-economic, cultural and political development.
In Holguin, some 786,741 electors are registered to vote in 2,466 Electoral Colleges.
More than eight million Cubans are called to go to the polls today to endorse the Magna Carta approved by the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP) on December 22, which seeks to temper the reality of the country to the content of its Law of laws.
