The Holguín business system currently has 34 productive lines destined for export in branches of industry and agriculture, mainly, while its managers and workers work to raise efficiency in search of greater income to the national economy.
Currently, the territory concentrates its efforts in the development of new ítems as one of the priority objectives in economic terms, in response to the programs implemented by the country in the production processes.
Manuel Cuenca, director of Economy and Planning in the province, said that Holguín has the potential to increase the number of exportable lines to no less than 60, which would be possible through a progressive process of evaluation in those productive entities with reserves of those goods.
The bulk of exports in Holguín, said the executive, are concentrated in the nickel, agriculture and sugar sectors, whose entities in the first two cases obtained in 2018 one of the largest contributions in recent times and from now on, their workers are increasing efforts to improve the results and thus expand the income to the country's funds.
In the case of nickel, the contributions correspond to the Pedro Sotto Alba and Ernesto Che Guevara industries, in Moa, while in agriculture corresponds to coffee production, tobacco, charcoal and honey, he pointed out.
Nivaldo Ibarra, territorial delegate of Agriculture, said that 2018 was one of the periods of highest rates in compliance with the plans for export, particularly honey production with more than 550 tons, the highest figure in the last three decades.
At the moment, he added, the final processes are being carried out to incorporate spicy hot pepper into the items with that destination, while in the medium term the citrus fruit could be incorporated from the reactivation and extension of this crop in different areas of the territory. / ACN
