Provincial event “For the balance of the world” begins in Holguín

The conference “Fidel Castro and the Assault on the Moncada Barracks, dismantling historical manipulation”, by Dr. C Alexander Abreu, will open the provincial event “For the balance of the world” , which begins today in the eastern city of Holguín.

The event, which will run until October 18, is dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the creation of the José Martí Cultural Society (SCJM) and the 130th anniversary of the death of the Cuban National Hero.

Héctor Miguel Niles Abalo, provincial president of the SCJM, told the ACN that unlike previous years where only the academic part has met, this year´s event has included exhibitions of plastic arts, panels and colloquiums on the research of the cultural policies, diversity and the role of youth in society.

The exhibition on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the José Martí Brigade of Art Instructors, the panels dedicated to the three decades of the Casa Iberoamericana and forums focused on the defense of national identity, are among the main activities planned for the event.

The event is the prelude to the VI International Conference “For the balance of all – With all and for the good of all”, convened by the José Martí Solidarity Brigade along with the Martiano Program Office, and soon to be held in Havana from January 28 to 31, 2025.

This global forum of thought is supported and co-sponsored by UNESCO, the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture, the Culture of Peace Foundation, the Latin American Council of Social Sciences and other international, regional and national institutions.
