Environmental Connection Day to be held in Gibara

Under the motto “Gibara, unique cultural landscape, the 3rd Day of Infants and Adolescents Environmental Connection 2024 will take place in this coastal town from March 26 to 28, dedicated to the Network of Heritage Cities of Cuba and its twentieth anniversary as National Monument.
Ada María Bruceta Córdova, member of the organizing committee said that on this occasion the event will focus on encouraging young people to care for the city's architectural heritage.
The program of activities includes the "Urban Development of the City", which will go from the Fernando VII Battery to the Municipal History Museum; as well as the debate "Gibara in Construction" by architect Alberto Mora, focused on the potential of Gibara in the vocational training of architects and restorers.
The System of Houses of Culture in the city, together with the staff of the Museum of Decorative Arts, will organize an exhibition on the landscape and customs of plastic artists at the House of Culture of this coastal city.
In addition, the City Conservator's Office will attend a visit to the Cemetery Polka Cave System, where they will discuss the origins of architecture in Aboriginal communities and the history of the cave.
The event, sponsored by the community project Voces del Audiovisual de Gibara, the Joaquín Fernández de la Vara Pí Natural History Museum and the technical team of Monumento, will close the day at the Jibá Cinema with the awarding of the Drawing and Photography Contests, in addition to the projection of audiovisual materials on the heritage of Gibara.
