Diaz-Canel attends Fihav 2025 opening

At its usual venue, Expocuba fairgrounds, from November 24 to 29, businesspeople and delegations from around the world are attending this event, which, according to the organizers, is hosting 47 countries and the European Union.
In a press conference prior to Fihav 2025, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment (Mincex), Oscar Perez-Oliva, confirmed the participation of 16 official delegations from Venezuela, Mexico, Bulgaria, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Czech Republic, Iran, the Congo, Zimbabwe, Comoros, Angola, and South Africa.
In addition, the director of the Colon Free Zone in Panama, the executive secretaries of ALBA-TCP and the Latin American Economic System (SELA), and the secretary general of ALADI will be present, along with representatives from 15 trade and investment promotion agencies.
FIHAV brings new features this year, with five thematic areas: Made in Cuba, The Energy Transition, AI Cuba, Unique Cuba, and the Integration Mechanisms Forum. This is in addition to the VIII Investment Forum, the updated Portfolio of Opportunities, product presentations, and National Days.
Concurrently, the Caribbean Banking Forum will take place on November 26 and 27 at the Parque Central Hotel, with the aim of strengthening regional financial integration among the countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
There will also be five business forums with some of the island’s main trading partners: Russia, Vietnam, Iran, Turkiye, and Argentina. Information will also be provided on new foreign investment policies aimed at attracting more foreign capital.
For his part, the president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Antonio Carricarte, confirmed the attendance of some 20 Chambers of Commerce and specified that 240 Cuban companies will participate.
