The international airports of Maiquetía, Venezuela and Frank País, of Holguín, opened a commercial route of the Venezuelan airline Rutaca, which will have two frequencies a week, Tuesdays and Fridays.
This new route allowed the arrival of tourism sector specialists from 38 travel agencies and press professionals from the sister nation.
The charter familiarization flight, coming from the state of La Guaira and coordinated by the International Group of Tour Operators and Travel Agencies, Havanatur, carried a FAM Group, whose partner is another travel agency based in Panama, Belraysa Tours & Travel Group S.A., which emphasizes the Cuba destination and promotes health tourism proposals and events, fair activities, exhibitions and recreational stays, among others.
Rutaca will depart from the Simón Bolívar international airport, in Maiquetía, stopping in the state of Falcón, also Venezuelan, and concluding in Holguín territory.
The general manager of Belraysa Tours, Jorge Guerra, declared that a “tourist and commercial exchange between both countries” is taking place, distinguished by access to our tourist destinations and the other eastern provinces.
Having more operations to the City of Parks in the future, in accordance with the expectations generated, is included in the plans of Belraysa Tours & Travel Group S.A., added Guerra, who added that the capacity of the aircraft arriving at “Frank País” is of 160 passengers.
Yoandra Simón, director of the East-North branch of Havanatur, said that this is the result of the Megafan event organized in the eastern region for the 45th anniversary of the Cuban agency, whose essential objective was to attract clients and tourists to the East of the Island.
Regarding the inaugural flight, she added that tour operators and journalists will carry out a program of tours and excursions in Holguín and Santiago de Cuba.
