The Ministry of the Interior of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of Nicaragua announced that Cuban citizens holding ordinary passports can obtain the required visa free of charge by applying online, the Granma newspaper reported.
The Ministry specified that, once the application is approved and the applicant is notified, they must go to the nearest Nicaraguan consulate abroad to have the visa stamped in their passport.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, this measure contributes to an orderly flow of migration and eliminates economic barriers for Cuban citizens, in addition to strengthening regional cooperation.
The Ministry also announced that it will soon enable an additional section on its digital platform to optimize citizen services, guaranteeing security and transparency in the procedures.
Meanwhile, the Antonio Maceo Patriotic Association of Cubans residing in Nicaragua condemned the executive order issued by US President Donald Trump, which declared a supposed "national emergency" by labeling Cuba a threat to US security.
The group denounced the measure as an attempt to intensify the economic blockade against the island and questioned the imposition of punitive tariffs on third countries that trade oil with Havana, which it described as a violation of international law.
In response, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla stated that these actions constitute an act of aggression intended to subject the Cuban people to extreme conditions within the context of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade that has been in place for more than six decades.
The Cubans residing in Nicaragua reaffirmed that no coercive measure can break the dignity of their compatriots and asserted that the island's historic resistance will continue in the face of external harassment. (Source: ACN)
