Provincial Council of People's Power meets in Holguín

The Provincial Council of People's Power, chaired by its Governor Julio Cesar Estupiñán Rodríguez, takes place today via videoconference with the participation of the main government authorities and mayors of the fourteen municipalities of Holguín.
The meeting will address topics such as the development of tourism on the north coast, the advances in the promotion and development of Nim plantations and other oilseeds and the proposals made by the voters, among other important matters of the economic and social events of Holguín.
Rosel González Pérez, Coordinator of Programs and activities related to Transport and energy in the Provincial Government explained the need to create a program for the development of renewable sources of energy in all territories to enrich the Strategy of Development of each municipality, these directives are mandatory for all sectors, which implies that each investment project or activity must include these energy alternatives.
Regarding government management for innovation Alejandro Torres Gómez, CITMA delegate in Holguín, pointed out that the Technical Advisory Council has been already constituted in the province and that their counterparts must be organized in each of the municipalities, entities that will not be made up of academics but by people whose expertise can contribute knowledge to these activities.
"We must review all the activities and create councils of supportive advisers to be able to advance in the programs, tasks and objectives, it is important that the mayors in each municipality are linked to the work of these commissions to make a government based on innovation, science and technology, "said Estupiñán Rodríguez.
Regarding the ordering task, the Governor commented that its implementation "moves the floor to inefficiencies", mainly in the agricultural sector in which it is necessary to promote the planting of animal feed, think about the benefits of planting with the best seeds, collecting everything what is produced, the rational use of water, recovering productive areas, the use of organic matter and increasing yields per hectare, among other issues that demand a vision from science and technology.
