The province of Holguín closed November with 41 positive cases of COVID-19, of which 27 were imported and 14 autochthonous after six new patients with the disease were confirmed on the 30th of November, three of them imported and the same number of autochthonous.
One of the new patients confirmed resides in the municipality of Calixto García and five of them in the Álex Urquiola health area in the city of Holguín.
In this way, the incidence rate of the territory in recent days is 1.4 per 10,000 inhabitants, according to information from the Provincial Health Directorate.
Due to the epidemiological situation in these municipalities, 15 outbreak controls are open in Holguín, Mayarí, Banes, “Calixto García”, “Urbano Noris”, Sagua de Tánamo, Moa and “Rafael Freyre”, which has led to keep 521 contacts under medical surveillance at home.
Of the 26 positive cases diagnosed this month, 23 were admitted in the Fermín Valdés Domínguez military hospital, one in Villa El Cocal and two in El Bosque motel.
While of the 15 suspects, nine are hospitalized at the Lucía Íñiguez Landín surgicalhospital, five at the Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja pediatric hospital and one at the El Bosque motel.
It is important to remember that there is a biosafety protocol to be followed by travelers arriving in the country and the families or friends who receive them in their homes: they must wait for the result of the PCR performed on the fifth day of their stay in Cuba to be able to go out. The family doctor and nurse will keep them under epidemiological surveillance with daily monitoring.
Measures also include the use of the nasobuco (face mask) in closed places and whenever the circumstances indicate it, respect physical distancing and practice frequent washing of hands with soap and water and disinfecting them with sodium hypochlorite solutions or alcohol, among other biosecurity standards that contribute to the prevention and control of the SARS CoV2 coronavirus.
