29th Int’l Book Fair Begins March 18th in Holguin

The 29th edition of the International Book Fair will take place in Holguin from March 18 to 22 with the participation of 10 foreign publishers from Spain, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru and Ecuador, among other countries.
 
This year’s edition will be dedicated to Manuel Garcia Verdecia and Eugenio Marron Casanova, who will be honored in the different cultural spaces planned for the event.
 
Authors from all over the country, publishers such as Gente Nueva, Capitan San Luis, Arte y Literatura and Verde Olivo, along with representatives of the Territorial Editions System, are among the guests, including Cubadigital.
 
With headquarters at the Alex Urquiola provincial library, the Cubadigital project will work with students from the University of Computer Sciences in the presentation of applications, softwares and technological resources associated with literature for tablets, phones and computers, which will be distributed for free. They will also organize workshops and conferences.
 
Performing arts, music and visual arts will complement the panorama of the most important cultural event related to literature that takes place in Holguin.
 
The fair will occupy venues such as the Gran Libreria, located in Plaza de la Marqueta, the Children's Pavilion with its usual space in the La Periquera provincial museum, the Alex Urquiola provincial library, the tent system around the Calixto Garcia park.
The event will be extended to Holguin communities and the municipalities of Rafael Freyre and Gibara.
