The XXX edition of the Provincial Hall of Visual Arts will take place from September 13 to 17 in Holguín as a reference space in Cuba, which brings together local artists, biennially, for the promotion of their works.
The agenda includes the delivery of the Electa Arenal Huerta Distinction to the outstanding creators Roy González and Julio Breff, which constitutes the highest recognition granted in the field of visual arts in the territory.
The event will feature the exhibition "Calendar 30. Do you remember...?", a contest exhibit that is imbued with a fresh and varied visual design, proposed through the installation process, with the use of everyday items framed in the 80s, as a leitmotif for the contextualization of the founding stage of the event.
All the creators of the province, resident in it or not, who work the visual arts in any of its expressions, have been summoned without restriction of themes, genres and techniques, with works made between the years 2022 and 2023.
The artist who is awarded, will also have the possibility of exhibiting its works in the Collage Habana gallery, of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets. In addition, collateral prizes will be delivered with the aim to recognize a greater number of artists, which will be conferred by Casa de Iberoamérica, the Hermanos Saíz Association, the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, as well as other institutions based in the province.
Since its creation in 1984, the Provincial Hall of Visual Arts has had among its objectives to give visibility to aesthetic proposals and diverse artistic interests and thus promote the art consumption from local creation.
