Buena Fe Concert Closes Romerias de Mayo Festival

The popular Cuban music band Buena Fe closed the Romerias de Mayo Festival with a concert in the Calixto Garcia Revolution square of the city of Holguin, in the early hours of this May 8.
The Festival officially concluded with the parade that carried the Ax of Holguin, symbol of the Romerias, as a tribute to the tradition and the resistance of the Cuban aborigines, from the Loma de la Cruz to the top of the 18-storey building. The ceremony also included the planting of a Palma Real tree, National Attribute of Cuba.
On the other hand, the American rock band Suicidal Tendencies was welcomed by the public in the Bariay cultural center.
The event had the participation of friends from 20 countries and included the granting of the Memoria Nuestra award to the founder of the Romerias Alexis Triana, the presentation of the essays book “Notes on the Cultural War", by Abel Prieto, and the celebration of the Hugs Festival against the United States Blockade of Cuba and solidarity with Venezuela.
The call was open to celebrate in 2019 the 26th edition of the Romerias and the 25th anniversary of this Festival of festival, title deserved by the heterogeneity of spaces where all the artistic manifestations converge.
