Las Bloguerías, one of the events of the Romerías de Mayo aimed at promoting the participation of bloggers, journalists and specialists in social networks, will be held in Holguin from May 5 to 7.
The ground floor of the Alex Urquiola Provincial Library will host the sixth edition of the event, which includes panels, workshops and conferences. For this purpose, all the technological conditions are created to transmit in real time the activities developed during the World Festival of Artistic Youths.
According to Luis Ernesto Ruiz Martínez, coordinator of the event, Las Blogerias will begin on May 5th with the panel “Cultura, internet and lucha de ideas en Cuba,” orgganized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture.
"The meeting will address topics related to the participation of Cuba in the VIII Summit of the Americas in Peru. The panelists will highlight what happened there with the use of social networks, which marked an important moment in the media confrontation held in this scenario," said Ruiz Martínez.
The agenda also includes the Fiesta de los Abrazos event against the U.S. blockade on Cuba to be held at Calixto Garcia Park, with the participation of university students and people in general.
A workshop on good practices in the use of social networks, by Professor Manuel Pérez Martínez, is also part of the activities for Las Bloguerias.
As a novelty of this sixth edition, the event will host the main conferences of the Romerías de Mayo to take advantage of the technical possibilities and connectivity.
