Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of Cuba’s Communist Party insisted in the need to increase food production at all municipalities, during a meeting in the western province of Artemisa.

The 2023-2024 cold campaign began this Saturday, September 2, in the province of Holguín with a massive voluntary work in the agricultural area of Beola of this eastern territory.

More than six decades have passed and the panorama of the Cuban countryside is very different from the one left by capitalism in 1959, when 200,000 farming families did not have a stick of land to sow, and half of the best lands were in the hands of foreign companies, while nearly 300,000 hectares remained uncultivated.
